Our Icebreaker Adventures offer itineraries that take you to areas in the Arctic inaccessible to traditional expedition vessels, with aerial sightseeing by onboard helicopters. If you are an active traveler, then choose our Active Adventures with Zodiac cruising, shore landings and an optional adventure: kayaking.

For 18 days this icebreaker expedition traces the history of the northern peoples across 4,000 years from Resolute to Iqaluit, Canada.

Active Adventures
Labrador Explorer
13 days from St John’s, on the island of Newfoundland, to Iqaluit, in the Canadian Arctic. Follow the whaling route along “the Labrador”, into the iceberg dotted Davis Strait. Landings in Torngat Mountains National Park are planned. En route you can participate in optional kayaking.

Baffin & Greenland and Solar Eclipse
13 days from Iqaluit to Resolute in search of a total eclipse of the sun. En route you may choose to kayak. All adventurers can participate in Zodiac cruises and shore landings.

13 days from either Resolute to Cambridge Bay or from Cambridge Bay to Resolute. En route you may choose to kayak. We will attempt to transit the shallow Simpson Strait as Roald Amundsen did during the first successful transit of the Northwest Passage.

Baffin Island Explorer
10 days from either Resolute to Iqaluit on Baffin Island. En route you may choose to kayak. .

Spitsbergen Explorer
11 or 12 days beginning and ending in Longyearbyen on the island of Spitsbergen. Our goal is to circumnavigate the largest of Svalbard’s islands, if local conditions permit. En route there will be optional kayaking. We’ll be on the alert for polar bear, walrus and multitudes of seabirds.
